Onward China uses limited technical and inquiry information to operate the website, understand aggregate performance, measure commercial-link clicks and respond when a traveler voluntarily requests help.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure information such as page views, approximate location, device and browser characteristics, traffic source, interactions and outbound-link events. Google may process identifiers and cookies or similar technologies according to its own terms. We do not intentionally send passport numbers, payment-card details or inquiry message contents to analytics.
Affiliate click measurement
When a labeled commercial link is clicked, we may record the product category, booking partner, button text, page path, destination domain and placement. This helps us compare useful content and commercial performance. The booking provider separately handles activity after you leave Onward China under its own privacy policy.
Inquiry information
If you request private travel support, the information you choose to provide—such as dates, cities, group size, service type and contact details—is used to review and respond to the request. We may share relevant details with a potential local provider only when needed to pursue the requested service and with appropriate disclosure.
Sensitive information
Do not send passport scans, full card numbers, account passwords, one-time security codes or unnecessary medical information through an initial inquiry. A legitimate booking or government process may later require identity information through its own secure channel.
Your choices and retention
Browser controls and privacy tools may restrict analytics cookies or scripts. You may contact us to request access, correction or deletion of inquiry information we control, subject to legal, security and recordkeeping requirements. We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for its operational purpose.
Third-party services and updates
Links may lead to analytics, booking, map, government or other third-party services with separate privacy practices. We may update this policy when site features or service providers change; the current published version applies to use of the site.
